WORLD SOLIDARITY FOR ROJAVA

ROJAVA gets center stage for the sollidarity it urgently needs in current times, to survive attacks from radical Islam thinkers within the ISIS & the current new governance in Syria.

WE live in a free world, or so we would live to believe and think. There are spaces however where there is more than required amounts of control turning ideologies into being called radical. In a dialogue with the Omas gegen rechliche gedanken from Tübingen, we agreed, that whichever side, extremism is not healthy and leads to conflict. Having assured and guaranteed this pattern, we do understand, that the radical or extreme end of any idea is not healthy for any of us.

The show, starting literally from the second hour, was about Rojava, getting to know what this is, what the current situation is, and how this happened in brief. Then the point was to pledge solidarity with such a space which is currently being harrassed by a regime as well as people using the ISIS hardliner ideology. Before we go ahead and label anyone, lets understand, that there have been governments that have labelled certain groups as terrorist organisations. Then there are state funded groups that also indulge in violence, apart from institutionalised crime, which is crime by the state ruling itself, which has been experienced in the area of environment degradation over the concept of development and deforestation. So coming back to how radical ideas ruined everything till this point of groups being labelled as terrorists, as per agenda and motive of course, and with due regards to the labelling bodies and their proofs of doing so.

So here is the statement we understood - before getting into pointing out to a particular group and stereotyping this, like there are bad apples in every basket, the bad apples we are talking about in the Rojava story come from the side of stereotypes against Islam, in general. But here, Muslims were fighting for freedom from radicalism of radical Islam thinkers - who have been kown for their barbaric ways, as quoted by Ahmet, our radio journalist, a Kurdish person himself telling us about the story how women took up arms in pure resistance to the radical elements who wanted to enslave women altogther. Rojava is this place where the women took up arms literally to help survive their race - from radical ideas.

Rojava, is from one of the four regions claimed by the Kurds, but is important for its self created  structure - of Democratic Confederalism. To understand, the population made up of a mix of Sunni Arabs, Alawites, Kurds, Christians, Druze and Yazidies, together decided to rise above religion to structure themselves as a group living together. Hence establishing this model of Democratic Confederalism, Rojava, with its women as well, have done well so far. Confirmed by academicians as well, this place has one male and one female president in every institution, with quota representations of different ethnic groups in their parliament.

From an ethnic war, here is a model that worked for several years, defending themselves, with weapons against the radical forces and groups; in this case the ISIS and the Assad regime, and now the current regime as well. The present regime and ISIS are actually the same as they believe in the same radical ideologies finally - with loads of repression of humans involved, confirm those who see attacks on Rojava currently. Solidarity with this place Rojava that has upheld this level of fair governance, inspite of civil war all around them in regions all around including their own, is hence of utmost importance. Finally, people from different ethnicities had beaten the conflict arguement within themselves, to maintain a peaceful co-existence, although just in this space - as long as it remains defended - from the constant attacks from the ISIS and the current regime.

Looking for freedom, here is a space that actually found it, right in the middle of violence and ethnic intolerances, and the story simply shows how things got messed up because the ones who came to help - came with their own agendas (these were countries). This worked counterproductive and landed every one in this mess of fighting with each other. Rojava hence today, is a huge symbol of possibility that pushes us to look forward to this, among all else virused by violence and aggression. A model already set in place by the people from there itself, it is now left up to us get these details about Rojava known, before they have to defend themselves all alone - for creating a space for peace - where women and men are equal and structures that can be built on this fundamental respect as well.

Journalist Clarisa, Ahmet and Claron broke situations and histories down to basics to figure out the above and probably more for those who have been following the Rojava story. For those not yet, this is something inspiration worthy and also the understanding of why and how women had to take up weapons to defend their honour since this was not being seen fairly at all. This action to defend themselves from slavery, forcing resistance and showing the opposite with the possibility of defending themselves was all that they were left with, or it was slavery. Mindlessness of violence remains here. And the urge hence forth to withdraw from aggression and conflict can be one's only resolve.

Understanding radical Salafism was the funniest moment in this show, which is an ideology that considers anyone who does not think like them as an enemy of the said, 'them'. However, this reality is what is being attempted to impose. Any more ideas to set the people of Rojava free are welcome, apart from knowing of it in the least.
