Keeping the positive strong ...
What have we done to our world, can be the downs that some of us may be passing through as we live through dark days of conflict with a feeling of helplessness. Denial of human rights and aid during war times, is being taken as a norm. And violence is the way in this bargain; something that we all learned was not the way. So resistance to such ideologies is, was and definitely can be a way forward, in whatever little way we can contribute. This is specially important, to beat the helplessness and downs thereafter, to be strong so something can be done for those in conflict distress by us who aren't directly facing it. Between thos directly facing the conflict and us not in the line of fire, its definitely us who are in a priviledged position. But as we live with shorter tolerances of consequences, we forget that time has to be served till things get in the shape we wish them to be. We also forget, that going through these times, while keeping the idea of peace still alive, over the downs of 'our own helplessness', is indeed what we call human strength and spirit. Beating someone up and being powerful, is not, never was and never ever will be. And we all have a resonsibility to keep this from any breach of peace.
Ulm is scheduled to be filled with protestors from all over the world - where weapons fuelling the insensitive war in other parts of our world - are being manufactured right under and around our very noses. Can we hold our heads up high and stand by this ? The world still recalls how 60 million citizens were silent, as 6 million soldiers killed 6 million of a categorized group. Is being silent while this weapon production happens next to us, the answer or a solution ? We live here in peace, and are not willing to wish the same for others ? For those not able to make this 10 day long protest so far, following up on social media platforms to show solidarity to this cause, will help. Alas, we have to be happy with whatever contributions we make, to this cause of peace and resistance to breach of peace, consistently being done by toxic political dimensions. If we are not in control of changing these political dimensions, then at least we can make a point with weapons manufacturing units in and around our homes ? Or have we given up this right as well, and are only busy complaining ? If there was ever a time to do something, it would be now, and this is the opportunity being seized at this protest camp against manufacture of weapons for conflicts driving our emotions literally up the wall. Give vent to your expression for peace. It is not a war against war, it is simply a move against unrealistic, depressing, medieval solutions to conflict. To those thinking of this as a complex problem, do save thoughts for the dept and decades of peacefull co-existence that need more acknowledgement than the negatives we simply choose to remain with. Blame games make us go in circles; apologies help us move on.
'Don't hesitate, Time heals the pain, You ain't the problem' sang Michael Kiwanuka's song soon after the announcements of resistance to breach of peace and the hard stories around this theme on this radio show today. Isabella, our lovely guest gave her honest reflections after travelling to places far and wide from Germany and getting to see the world for what it really is, and not just our comfort zones. An experience of being with the most popular superstar actor on this planet, of sitting next to him, touching him and playing a role alongside him in a blockbuster movie, was also spoken about. The two hours of Newcomer News show went by much faster with much music, poetry recital in Kurdish by Ahmed, and radio journalists Greek Gas and C kept enjoying the company through depts of conversations.
