Adam Kempenaar co-founded Filmspotting in March 2005 with former co-host Sam Van Hallgren. He has a BA in film studies and an MA in journalism and mass communication from the University of Iowa, and a BA in English from Grinnell College. In April 2008, Kempenaar wrote the foreword for Jon J Muth's graphic novel adaptation of Fritz Lang's classic film "M." Read the foreword here.
Matty "Ballgame" Robinson moved from NYC back to Chicago in Sept. '07 to join Filmspotting. He has a BA in creative writing and drama and an MFA in acting.
Together, Kempenaar and Robinson have co-taught three film courses at the University of Chicago's Graham School. Since October 2006, Filmspotting can be heard on WBEZ (91.5 FM) in Chicago.
Filmspotting is consistently a top 10 most downloaded TV/Film audio show in iTunes and has been a finalist for a Podcast Award as Best Movie/Film show five straight years. We've been broadcasting on Wüste Welle since January of 2011.
